Gluonpilot coding

Postby rish » Wed Feb 06, 2013 1:37 am

Hi,
Im new to the rc hobby but I understand the basics. For uni we have been asked to design a uav and I saw the gluonpilot which does autopilot. Its seems too good to be true....

My question is how does it work. I've read heaps of forums and watched youtube videos. All I know is it uses google earth and gps to track where the uav is. But how does the gluon pilot work? I'm assuming some coding is required? How does the gluonpilot know how to respond differently to different shaped planes etc... And will it adjust if there is a breeze which puts the uav off course?

We are currently planning to build a 4 channel uav (thrust, ailerons, tail elavator, rudder). and I am considering purchasing this, however before I pay 200 Euros I'd like a bit more information.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Rishan
