Exception and problems on simulation

Postby julioall » Thu Mar 19, 2015 8:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the gluon pilot but have some experience on autopilots. At the moment I'm trying to create a flight plan for a photogrammetry mission. Bad thing is that whenever I try to use the helper option to create the polygon and then build the route. I've tried to look in the forum for similar problems but with no success. I get the following:

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Also, I tried just to ignore this exception but when the simulation is performing the mission it gets stuck in an endless loop in a Circle_To command. It just keep flying in circles around the waypoint instead of going to the next one. I have noticed that it doesn't flies in a straight line while using the From_To command. Any thoughts?

Cheers!

Hello Julio,

In the latest software versions the simulated flight behavior is not ideal.

Which version of the software are you using?

Here is a screenshot of what happens when applying the command Circle_To:

I'm using 0.10 Beta 4. My main concern is what will happen when I try flying for real!

I can not seem to reproduce it.... Could you write down the steps I need to take to reproduce it?

Also try with BETA 5 if possible:

Well what I did is to follow the steps to create a ZSurvey and then simulate it, nothing special really.
1) Helpers>Survey polygon>Create new
2) Add 4 absolute waypoints that enclose my AoI. Change Survey to ZSurvey
3)Helpers>Survey polygon>Build route [Distance between line: 82m, Altitude: 207m, Angle: 28] (here is where the exception appears)
4) Save file
5) Restart software on Simulation mode, load file, write to gluonpilot and execute.

The exception appears when you add an angle to the route. If you don't, there will be no exception. Nevertheless, the circle_to issue persist.

Something funny is that even though the installer says BETA5, when you run it it says BETA4.

Cheers!

Here is another observation:
I changed the circle_to altitude from 207m to 100m and VOILA!

Subsequently, I did the same on other circle_to commands and everything worked just fine.

Then again, my concern is on real operations.

The whole thing was solved by the altitude input. I have looked for an explanation but with little success. Where can I find a resource to understand Altitude AGL: # m / # m. I know is the altitude above ground level but why is it divided?

Right one is target altitude!
