Gluonpilot video in the news

Postby icebear » Mon Jan 13, 2014 10:00 pm

During the Christmas holiday my wife and I decided to try to take some video footage of a giant flock of geese that had gathered at a field nearby.

We made several attempts to scare them off with my flying wing AND take some video of the event, After several attempts (and some muddy boots!), we finally succeded.
It was posted today on the web of Swedens main newspaper for farmers (where my dearest works!)...

Enjoy - even if you probably can't read the swedish....

Nice flight!

Indeed not always the geese seem to be intimidated by your plane :-)

For which parts of the flight did you use autopilot mode?

No, they probably got used to it from previous attempts... :D

I used stabilized for most of the flight to get smooth video. This was my most extensive flight using this technique and it worked really well.

I noticed that the plane did "lock" in a slight dive at a few instances so I had to go back to manual and then return to back to stabilized again to regain elevator control. Do you know what can have caused this behaviour?

Please note that it is the Gluonpilot1 in this setup with the last GP1 firmware (not the later GP2 fw's).
