Futaba T6EX PWM RC problem with gluon

Postby Kang.K.P.S. » Fri Apr 12, 2013 4:58 am

Dear Friends,

Recently I bought Futaba T6EX PWM RC with Futaba S3003 servos.
I'm trying to configure my gluon hardware ver.0.1 with firmware 0.8 with this RC.
The problem is that despite accurately following all the instructions I cannot
put the elevator channel to work correctly in manual and stabilize mode.
I did the settings this way:

*I set my RC signals to comply with the directions of RC tab page.
*My elevator moves reverse in manual but OK in stabilized/auto.
*I reversed elevator servo in servo tab page.
*My elevator has become normal for manual but reverse for stabilize/auto.
That's it......! The elevator response is always opposite for the manual/stabilized modes.
it can only be OK if I reverse the elevator channel on my rc.
Now elevator works correctly both for the manual and stabilized mode.
But the elevator signal bar on the rc tab page moves in wrong direction...!

I spent third day attempting to configure my gluon but without avail.
However a search on the net revealed that the futaba S3003 sevos
supplied with my new T6EX has an unusual counter clockwise direction.
Could this be the reason that my manual and stabilizing signals stay
opposite to each other.......? Can somebody kindly help....?

Kang.

Hi Kang,

I don't think the servo can be the problem because you could simply reverse it in the servo-tab.

Is your pitch stick in the neutral position at startup?

Yes Tom, it is absolutly at neutral position on startup. One more thing is that both the throttle and pitch signal needed to be reversed to get a proper signal as depicted on RC tab page. -Kang.

Tom, Same thing is happening if I use my GP2 with this RC...!-Kang.

and do you think it is the RC-transmitter or receiver? Can you try another one or use the configuration of another GP?

Tom, this module seems to work OK with my Sanwa RC...! More than that I had many excellent flights with subject Futaba RC using UDB4...!!!-Kang.

Is "sanwa RC" a difference transmitter, receiver or transmitter+receiver?

Tom, it is a different set of transmitter and receiver.Sanwa DX6i-Kang.

Hi Kang,

If it works with a different set of transmitter/receiver I can only conclude that some settings on this transmitter are not correct...
GP switched to autopilot mode when the throttle is below 0.9ms, maybe this could be an issue?

Tom,
Actually it is not the problem that it shifts to Auto mode but instead
the auto versus stabilization signals become opposite. I already set my fail-safe
to about 60% after resetting my RC to factory defaults. But the problem was still there....!
May be non-intuitive reverse movement of Futaba RC's.

So I did the solution this way:

*Do not reverse any of your channels on your RC and servo tab page on gluon-config.
*switch to stabilize/auto mode and check for control surfaces response. If required
reverse the desired servo in servo tab page.
*Switch to manual mode and see control surface responses. If desired reverse the
desired channel on your RC.
*Ignore the rc tab page instructions......and you're done here.

After this I had a beautiful stabilized flight this evening but due to poor visibility
in growing dusk I could not have a flight in auto mode. Probably in the coming days
and I will let you Know. By the way can I use firmware version 0.8 on GP2.....?

Many thanx for timly helps extended to this old man. Grateful dear...!

Cordially,
Kang.
