Photogrammetry with gluonpilot

General discussions on the Gluon-project that don't fit elsewhere. If required, I will create more subforums.

Oh yes it is on the list :)

The house building is taking a few months longer than expected :-(

Cool! Could you share your experience about tooling?

I used to use Globalmapper (I think this is the name) for viewing the 3D model (from PIX4D) but it was not good and slow to view the huge 3D model (~1GB)

Tom, to stitch the images for 2D result i'm, using Microsoft ICE. For 3D map i'm using Recap360 :
https://recap360.autodesk.com/Signin.aspx. Not the best results but the software are free.

Now i'm building a FX-61 wing, I hope that I will have better results in terms of area covered, picture quality.

Hi Tom,

I have done multiple flights this week and I have some ideea to improve the Z-type flightplan.

Now the flightplan looks like this:

Image

As you can observe at the middle of the flightplan we have more lines than needed- this means more battery consumed.

My proposal is to have a flightplan like this (not to double the lines inside of the flightplan):

Image

Also , during the flightplan creation I have observed that at the "begining" of the flight plan (black arrow marked on the image) we are not covering very well the area, the line that should be exactly on the red square is missing but for the "ending" of the flightplan (red arrow) we have more fligh lines than needed - battery consumption not justified.

Thank you,
Alex

Good evening,

I have upgraded to firmware version 10.5 ,my first observation is that is a big improvement in terms of flightplan ( better coverage of the survey area). Even so it seems that is a small issue, after "Build route" the waypoints are not visible...It will apppear only after playing with one of them , please check the video below.

Tom, is this a software bug ? Can be fixed ? From my point of view waypoint 3 in example above is useless.

Also the ground station window "name" is 0.10 Beta 4 even if the software is Beta 5.

Thank you.

Tom, Thank you!

What is preparing Santa Claus for Gluonpilot users :) ?

Hardware / software updates ?( length/width of the survey area, area covered by the survey, theoretical length of the flight lines..).

Thank you.

Hello all,

During last days the time allow me to try the improved Z-type survey. Below you can see 2 flights done :

Tom, please tell me that there is a work in progress in order to add the theoretical area of the survey flightplan ( L x l).

Happy holidays!
