Hi all,
My first Gluonpilot installation was a Funjet (OK, I had a GP in 2010 in a trainer too...) and while it flies well and is well trimmed I havent been able to carry a GoPro camera due to the weight of the Ultra (700 grams total with battery including repairs!). It is also a handful to get airborne...
Therefore, I was inspired by Eddis build of the "old" Funjet and I have decided to start a light build that should inculde the Gluonpilot AND a GoPro cam.
Parts have arrived and weigh in as follows;
Wings: 52 grams
Fuselage: 84 grams
Stabilizers: 10 grams
Canopy: 14 grams
Motor mount: 25 grams
Spar: 20 grams
Small parts: 15 grams
TOTAL: 220 grams
I think by just modifying motor mount and exchanging the heavy spar I can save 30 grams or so. On top of that some foam will be removed to allow for the GoPro mount and to give it a clear forward view.
The equipment weighs:
Gluonpilot: 15 grams
XBEE (external): 5 grams
BEC: 5 grams
GPS: 10 grams
Hitec Rx w/o case: 5 grams
Servos HS65HB: 20 grams
TOTAL: 60 grams
Motor/ESC/cables approx 60 grams, and I would go for a light 2S or 3S-LiPO at approx 90 grams.
That means that I could have a complete Funjet @ 190 + 60 + 60 + 90 = 400 grams. Even with the GoPro I could be within 500 grams total...
To be continued...
