Exciting flight: Kudos!

General discussions on the Gluon-project that don't fit elsewhere. If required, I will create more subforums.

It gives much more possibilities.
For example:
altitude stick:
min - go to block 1
max - go to block 2

roll:
min - go to block3
max - go to block4

altitude max, roll left:
go to block 5

altitude max, roll right:
go to block 6

and so on :)

Interesting suggestion but I think it is not wise to assign default behavior to the sticks as they may be used for other purposes like change flight pattern characteristics in-flight.
Then again, when there could be multiple SET_FLIGHTPLAN_SWITCH statements you can accomplish something like you described here (except for the combinations). I actually like the idea of using the sticks as they are already available.

The SET_FLIGHTPLAN_SWITCH has been implemented.
It contains 4 parameters:
- channel used to switch
- script line to jump to the when switch changes to < 1400ms
- script line to jump to the when switch changes to 1400ms <= x < 1600ms
- script line to jump to the when switch changes to > 1600ms

I hope this will cover 95% of all needs :-)

This weekend I will try to test it.

I tried the new feature and it works great! As a test I put in the modes start (climb-standby), flight pattern 1 (circle to 500m) and pattern 2 (circle to 1000m :) ). Now I have the 3 patterns on a switch but I will change the SET_FLIGHT_MODE to trottle stick input so that flight pattern 1 (standby) is always the fail safe pattern. I always set my trottle to off in fail safe :ugeek:

More wishes to come but you can freeze and burn this code in the release. Thanks again!

Glad you liked it! I did some tests myself and was satisfied as well. It's already in the 0.8 final release.

Now last weekend the impossible happened:
The 3th state of my switch is "auto-land".
Now the plane was flying on the standby circle, and my dad was standing next to me. I was playing with the flightplan on the laptop (XBee connection), and my dad noticed the "translucent peel-off plastics from the factory" (how do you call that?) was still on the RC-transmitter, so he decided the start removing it. Apparently he switched the 3-state switch to the 3th state so he could better get his fingers around it. I was looking on the laptop and suddenly saw my UAV pitching down and descending! Panic! Luckily the computer-voice said "Entering Descent" so I had an idea what was going on!

So yes, it does work good :-)
