Regarding Pan tilt feature

Postby Kang.K.P.S. » Mon Jun 04, 2012 3:25 pm

Dear Tom,

I would like you to suggest to include camera pan tilt control feature as many fliers prefer to use Gluon for
FPV purpose. Also please explain if you have any plans for the inclusion of Sonar or other such similar device
that could aid better auto-landings.

Cordially,

Hi Kang,

The roll stabilization is on channel 5 (6 if using aileron mode). I'm lacking channels to do pitch stabilization as well, maybe my next hardware release should include 8 dedicated channels (channels 7 & 8 don't contain GND and 5V, so a bit hard to use).

If you know a good solution to do autolanding, I'll be happy to take a look at it. For the moment audio-sonars don't seem very accurate... They don't reflect on grass and other non-flat materials...

Tom,
Sorry for delay as I was away. I think an infrared beacon can be devised for the
perfect landing with which the landing bird can control its navigation vectors
or the thermopile sensors can be used. What is your opinion?
Cordially,
Kang.

Hi Kang,

How could thermopiles improve the landing?

Do you have any reference on the IR beacon? Would it still work in direct sunlight?
