I think i destroyed my Gluonpilot

General discussions on the Gluon-project that don't fit elsewhere. If required, I will create more subforums.

Yes!
This one seems burned. This is for the voltage regulator for the sensors.
Unfortuntaly there should be another cause, because this will only cause the sensors not to work. Continue the search :-)

If you don't find the problem, feel free to send it back to me.

I tried to find another faulty component but i am not able to find one.... could you send me a PN describing the specifics about sending the unit to you for checking?

I think i am getting nowhere on my own... and with online help only ^^

you said in your first answer in this thread that the 5V level won´t be 100%... i didn´t really understand that. Does that mean that even if the fried components are replaced the unit won´t work as it should?

Thx for your kind offer, have a nice weekend Tom =)

What I meant with the 100%:
It could be that your FTDI is supplying 4.95V, and your ESC is supplying 5.45V. This 0.5V difference is a major problem. Ohm's law tells you: U = R*I So if U = 0.5V and R is very low (say 0.001 Ohm), this means the current I is going to be huge, more than the gluonpilot was designed for.
It's hard to tell from here how bad your module has been damaged. Maybe it will be easy to fix, maybe it will be total loss...
