Another new GP project - PZ Stryker

Postby icebear » Wed Feb 08, 2012 5:50 pm

Hi,

As I mentioned in my Funjet thread I have been thinking about a slightly bigger airframe since I think the Funjet would be too small to carry a camcorder like the GoPro or Replay XD which are my camcorders of choice for AV.

I came across the ParkZone F27Q Stryker which is supplied more oe less pre-built in an enormous box...
I was a bit surprised that the fuselage has less room than the Funjet, but nothing that careful planning wouldn't take care of. And a hobbyknife...

Here are some pictures...

Does anyone know if the best placement of electronics to educe rf noise?

I have planned (back to front):

Motor - ESC - GP - rx - battery (requiring longer power leads to esc)

Very cool plane, but very little space :-)

Maybe cut out a small piece of the wing to embed the GPS antenna.
Maybe place the battery a bit more forward? The RC receiver on top of the battery?
Place the ESC as close as possible to the motor.

Good luck!

Another idea:
I think the stryker is the 'wing' for this Mini Devil Ray:

Thanks for the input Tom.

I think there can be mafde a lot of room by just carving out some unnecessary foam. I might even fit the GPS that way... My camera sits up front so I actually need some extra weight further aft - the heavy original ESC might do the trick :)

The Mini Devilray looks nice - but ugly :) - I am sure Dean and Chris have tested it thoroughly...

Cheers,

Björn
