more reaction at stabilizing mode

Postby Ufus » Wed May 18, 2011 3:28 pm

Hello together

i like to know which values i need to increase to get better reaction from the plane at stabilizing mode.
I need at moment full stick movement for fly a wide soft circle only
do i need a higher i or d values for this ?
are this values for stick influence ?
the maximum Pitch and Roll Angle i have setup to 45° but i not reach this level by stick under stabilizing

from the Mikrokopter i know it like this, there are PD values for the Gyros and one setup field for PD leverage by Sticks

and one other question
i never get a motor - power control at stabilizing or Auto Mode flight, which hook i had forgotten to set ?
it is only flying by manual throttle

and last but not least perhaps an idea for the new Gluonpilot Boards
is it possible to build in a buzzer for get Sat Fix and status feedback or to make a layout for solder some wires, to extend the LED more easy ? i can doe this at my board self, but perhaps only a idea for a newer version
i use not every time a Notebook outdoor and i get then no feedback form the build in Gluon

thanks for a short hints :-)
regards
Chris

P.S. perhaps one last but not least question
can you give me pelase the Skywalker PID etc. setting values ?
thank you very much

Hello Chris,

You will need to increase the "P"-term for roll to aileron PID. You could double it... or check on the ground if the aileron deflection is OK for you.

Yes currently motor control is still manual in autopilot mode... I will change this in the next version.

About the buzzer.... Maybe I should create an optional buzzer (with 2 wires).

Other options:
- Create an invalid PWM pulse for the motor. This will make your ESC buzz
- Make sure the GPS is not build in. Most GPS units have a LED.

thanks Tom,
my GPS is a Ublox with helicoil Antenna it has real no Led visible

i have asked for the higher Stick control rate under stabilized mode, because i had the impression, that the
flight level restoring by the gyros was fast and hard enough so that i would not like to increase those values.

an other thing
have you thought about a max descend or climbing rates as additional boundary value for max and min pitch level ?

Yes, but it will depend on how complex I make the auto-throttle (which is part of a more advanced climb/descent algorithms) control.
