Bootloader

Postby marc » Thu Oct 28, 2010 11:30 am

Hi,

It seems that most of us have problem when using the bootloader...
I solved it by doing the following procedure:
- un-power the Gluonpilot
- plug (not solder... just plug it in the empty PCB holes) a 470R resistor between VPP (pin6) and GND (pin3) of the ICD programming connector of the Gluonpilot. This will force the /MCLR to the ground
- power the the Gluonpilot via the FTDI cable
- click download on the PC bootloader application
- remove the 470R
- and bingo... it should start the programming...

I hope it will work for you

That's indeed a good trick!
Remark that this is no longer needed from V0.5 on as the firmware contains a reset command and can be firmware upgraded from the gluonconfig tool.

When you change the settings regarding control/mixing, you need to reboot the gluon module (with the rc-receiver connected and rc-transmitter on, and the throttle stick in idle position). (this is probably the reason your motor stick didn't work)
